without getting ganked. Any other zones like this that I should be aware of?

I'd expect Blasted Lands, especially near the dark portal and also possibly Hyjal at 85.

Hellfire is like that. I've heard suggested to just level far as you can in Blasted Lands (it's not really too bad there) and then if you have the levels to skip to Zangarmarsh. Never done it myself, but maybe worth it after the gankfest that is Hellfire these days.

Also, I've always avoided Stranglethorn for partially that reason. Also, it's just "that zone" for me. Back pre-Cata even, my GF at the time -loved- being there. I just wanted to do the quest hubs and GTFO already. *shrug*

But yeah, definitely Hellfire. And Hyjal can get that way too, sometimes. But it's always really only at the portal entrance there for me. When questing it's easy enough to spot them, stay in the air if they do attack you, and they get bored pretty quick. I'm not sure for Pandaria, myself as I've yet to go there.

- Blasted Lands (near portal area)
- Hellfire Peninsula
- Howling Fjord
- Mount Hyjal

If someone post "I don't care", they actually care VERY much.
If they DON'T care, they WON'T bother posting.

Blasted lands near the portal and hellfire peninsula are usually swarming with gankers on my server, and it's a low pop server, too.

As others have said, the Dark Portal is popular (I feel bad for the Alliance that can't teleport there on their mounts, unless that changed) and Hellfire, no matter where I went when I levelled my shaman a week or so back, I'd get ganked at least a couple times an hour. Had some decent (fair) WPvP with a equal level person but then they called their guildie in.

Lolwut

As a mainly alliance character I never gank, and defend lowbies from the 12 year old horde players.

TC stay away from the Blasted Lands, mainly the Dark Portal area until you need to go through it to Outland. If you have some good guildies maybe they would even be able to escort you through the portal. On my server there are always 10-15 horde players sitting in that area waiting for any allys to gang up on.
