I know they used to be siphoning it from Immol'thar, then the Prince started sacrificing arcanists to sustain it, but he's long dead. How are the Highborne Night Elves holding on?

I thought Highborne and Night Elves were totally different things?

Like I've said before, Allies are like sand people; they scare easily but they will be back in greater numbers.

High elves*

As far as modern usage goes, "Highborne" would be night elves affected by arcane magic that haven't quite made as much of an evolution as the high elves have, so to speak (see: the Shen'dralar in Feralas). Basically, if you want to super-simplify it, Highborne are "night elf mages."

All elves are magic addicted. The difference is just type / source.

Night Elves are addicted to nature magic, and gain it mainly through the moon wells.

The other races of elves are addicted to arcane magic.
The High Elves and Blood Elves got it from their Sun Well, but when that was destroyed, Blood Elves turned, temporarily, to demonic sources and then back to the new Sun Well. High Elves subsist currently off of more mundane sources. Captured magical spirits, ley line channeling, enchanted items, anything they can get their hands on.

Highbourne elves used to rely upon the Well of Eternity, but when that was destroyed, like the High Elves, they learned to subsist off of lesser sources of magic power.

My question is about the Shen'dralar/"Night Elf Mages" that we play as. Where are they GETTING that from? What's the source?

It was:
a) Well of Eternity, until it blew up
b) Immol'thar, until the pylons started to take more than they provided
c) Sacrificing other Highborne to the pylons until we killed the Prince and Immol'thar
d) ???

What are they currently feeding off of, so to speak?

Where do humans get theirs? Or gnomes, or dwarves?
