Theories? Were my install files possibly corrupted, for whatever reason? I recently wiped everything and did a fresh Windows installation, so I'm wondering if the massive number of OS updates that I've done since re-installing WoW could have possibly caused a problem. Has this happened to anyone else?

Did you point out the WoW folder to the Bnet launcher? Otherwise it's going to download the whole client.

I thought it seemed clear from the initial posting that I had *already* re-installed WoW post-Windows install. To clarify, I did the Windows install about a week ago, and then the full 24 gig run of WoW content/patches immediately thereafter. I had been playing without incident since that time, until last night when suddenly, I was re-installing a ton of files. Your first couple days with a new Windows install are constantly interrupted by massive amounts of updates and since my system is pretty lean+clean at the moment, I had wondered if system updates had ever been known to brick a WoW install. Seems tenuous, but I'm kind of at a loss as to why I'd have to re-install that much content.

Thanks for the initial reply, but I don't think you'll be very helpful anyway bro, since you seem high on snark and low on reading comprehension.

Windows updates... people actually install those? I just manually download and install any specific drivers updates I need, along with Service Packs if applicable. I disable the automatic updates immediately. /shrug
