missable characters?

Are there any characters that I wont be able to round up at the end?

There's only one set of seven characters and they all join together. You can miss them by picking the wrong choices in an event in the very last chapter. The game makes a point of letting you know if you're making the wrong choice so they're very hard to miss.

Other than that there's no one you can't wait until the last minute to get.

There is one, however, that will never reappear if you refuse him: Koroku.

But you can get him any time, as long as you get him - not refuse him.

I fail to see why anyone would refuse recruiting someone, though. The only reason would be that you knew (from looking up) that holding off on one would allow a different one later. (I don't recall if Suikdoen ever does this, but some games do.) But that would involve looking it up, and so STILL doesn't apply to Koroku since theres's no such thing involved here.

But yeah. Other than refusing Koroku, the above post shows the only missable characters.

The only characters where refusing a Suikoden guy might help you are those two squid creatures with Abizboah that you can get in Suikoden II with a Listening Rune who aren't part of the 108 Stars. Obviously you would refuse getting them so you could get Sigfried and...uh...that bird creature with Ayla. But that's all I can think of.

IIRC, in Suikoden II you HAVE to get Aila and Feather to get the 108 stars. It doesn't matter what you do with the other Listening Crystal, you can either recruit Abizboah or Sigfried...

You recall incorrectly. You do not have to recruit Feather and Aila at all. You'll miss out on a Star and only end with 107 Stars of Destiny, but you can miss them. For those that really want both Sigfried and Abizoah, or Abizoah, Ruloidia(sp?) and their child.

Yeah, that's why i said to get the 108 stars. Obviously, you could miss them if you wanted to, but if you want all 108, you have to recruit Feather and Ayda. Heh, I can't believe I typed Aila.
