Sidorovich won't open his door!

Ok I started Stalker over, and am having a problem. I pissed off the millitary checkpoint south of the area were you start the game. They then all came to the little town/encampment, and proceded to kill everyone. I managed to kill every single one of them, but now Sidorovich's door is locked! Is this a glitch or is there a way to get him to open it again? I'd rather not restart as I've got a good 7 hours into it already, and have collected alot of good stuff. Any help would be appreciated!

I saw in another post that you can open the door with a grenade, I tried and it worked but I still can't open or close the door manually, will this reset over time or will it be messed up perminently?
