in case anyone hasn't noticed, the FAQs are in a deplorable condition (at least they seem that way to me)... so, how about a cross-forum robopon project that will compile info on every type of Robopon, as well as:
1. The Mushroom Spirits
2. The "Mystery" programs (Rock*, Wind*, etc.)
3. Status Effects list
4. Complete Robopon data list
5. Battery Clatter probabilites (in Playland)
6. Hoffman Tower floors list
7. Boss Strategies (recommended levels, recommended software to use, etc.)
8. Complete Software list (all software combinations, effects, etc.)
9. Jasper Passwords (all of them)
10. Etc. etc.

just an idea. sound good to anyone, or do I just have too much spare time on my hands?

This is something I was thinking of starting a while back. I'm currently working on collecting all the robopon, I've only got about 30 more to go. The ones I don't have are ones that can seemingly only be gotten through link sparking, or a not known Jasper password.

From: TheBlueAvenger | Posted: 3/16/2004 1:55:23 PM | Message Detail
Okay, here's something about the Mystery Software:
Fire* and 2 Fire 3s will yield a software which I can't remember the name of (and I will find it later).
Rock* and 2 Rock 3s will yield Mammon.
Wind* and 2 Wind 3s will yield Urania.
Ice* and 2 Ice 3s will yield Sabrina. They have effects, but I don't have my GBA with me, so I can't check it out. They all cost around 200 EP.

Sheba: Wow. And I thought Saturos and Menardi had issues.

Where would you find Fire*?

I found the linkspark to get Rocker!
It's: noble + noble + noble + star

for all the mystery software (ex. fire*) there are certain requirements:
1. you must have 4 robopon with you
2. each robopon must like at least one member of the group (oil types)
also there are two levels:
the first requires only the mystery software equiped and will use a mystery technique

ice* - effect: heals entire party, not sure if to full health - to get this software go to delica castle in the past and defeat the robot in the basement. the fight is difficult as it has all level 60 robopon

fire* - effect: deals damage, maybe something else - obtained from lisa whom you meet in hoffman tower after a long search mission started by talking to the fortune teller in hindo town who tells you about a girl

wind* - effect: scrap all opposing robopon though does not always work - after the alien story line or a while after go visit mr. rocket and takai (sp?) will be there. talk to rocket and he'll go on about building a rocket. give him money and he'll build a rocket. after it doesn't work there'll be an explosion. exit and go back in and repeat until it finally works. exit, re-enter and he'll talk to you and then give you the software

rock* - effect: deals damage and that's it - get a red mushroom and release the spirit that opens the red doors, don't remember what the spirit looks like though. go to "my tower" and at the very beginning and there should be a red door directly in front. open it and then open the treasure chest to get the software

the second level of effect is created by having a robopon equipped with the mystery software as well as it's level 3 counter parts, ex. - fire* fire3 fire3

i don't remember what each one does but each deals major damage

as for ep costs, the normal is 100 for first level and 200 for the second level. however certain robopon can use the attacks at a lesser cost. always though, the second level is double that of the first. a lower cost would be like 90 for first level and 180 for the second level. the lowest i've seen is 60 for the first level and 120 for the second. i believe that the sorcerer class robopon of the punch type use the least.

Locations for Fire* Sidequest:
(note: may not be in exact order)

1. Hindo Town (talk to fortune teller)

2. Nenji Valley (talk to a Kappa, wuki.)

3. Lover's Cliff (talk to Grandpa)

4. Town of Walda, inside Grand Mansion (talk to the 1337 h4x0r who tells you about the Waffle Source Disk)

5. Capri-Colony (talk to one of the Capris, pri.)

6. Top Floor of Pond Garden (talk to the guy who keeps trying to get Dom to come out)

7. Hoffman Tower (Lisa will be waiting inside with your brandy-new Fire* software. Make sure you don't tell her you were cheating on her with an alien or anything >_>)

...am I missing any?

Side notes:

- Spirit who opens Red Doors is the first spirit to say "Konichiwa, (your name)-San! I think we will become good friends. Have you seen any red doors around? My magic key is the only way to open those doors... (and so on)". Looks like an annoying teenager, has pink fairy wings and pink hair.

- Nymph (Ice* software) does heal all party members to full health.

- Sabrina (Ice*, Ice3 x 2) does extreme Ice damage. The same goes for Phobius, Mammon, and their respective elements. Not sure about Sylph's ultimate summon yet. Where can I get two Wind3's?

- You're right. The EP cost for special software is lowered according to certain Robopon, but I haven't figured out the proportions yet. For example, M-Train needs 80 EP to use Nymph, and SunCust needs 100. M-Train needs 100 to use Imp, and SunCust needs only 90.

Gradually collecting some information on the Mushroom Spirits. So far I have seen three:

Blue Mushroom = 1) Increase in shop prices, 2) Decrease in shop prices

Yellow Mushroom = 1) Randomly take away money

As I get further along, I can update with more of the effects as well as the specific names of the Spirits. I'm all for a better and more comprehensive FAQ for this game.

I just noticed something...You know how most Robopon need 100 EP to use they * Software? I'm not sure about anything other than Wind*, but Anti-Grav9 takes only 60 EP to use Sylph, the Wind* software...

But yeah...on some day I feel like it, I'll post a bunch of Robopon data...

It might take me a while, but since I'm currently training a high-level Enhancing Icarun, it might be a while...

Heh... have fun with that Icarun... Icarus enhances at level 40. Took me almost a ****ing week to train it.

Perhaps the star software has something to do with the amount of For/Wil a Robopon has? I noticed that the higher the For/Wil a Robopon has, the less EP is required to use the skill. SunCust has the most EP in my party, and needs the least amount of EP to use Software. At the same time, Boom-B1 has the least For/Wil, and needs the most to use the software. Since A-Grav9 has an insane amount of For/Wil, it would make sense that he needs less EP to use star software.
Or maybe the element of the first skill the Robopon learns has something to do with it? For instance, the first skill A-Grav9 learns is Sonic, a wind attack, and he uses less EP than normal to use a Wind attack... however, Boom-B1 learns nearly ever Fire-based skill, but he still needs 100 EP to use Imp...

Those developers... when they called it "Mystery Software", they sure weren't kidding >.<

Boiler is the great mystery of Robopon. Nobody on these forums has gotten it (as far as I know). Nobody knows how to get it. It's assumed that there is a link spark, but nobody has found the combo. It's not in the FAQs. It's only seen in the game once, and its enhance is never seen. Until somebody gets a ROM decompiler and goes through the code, the world will probably never know how to get Boiler. Sorry >_>;;

I agree. Also:
- BigZap and Boom-B1 grow at about the same rate, with the same number of skills. Therefore, they are interchangeable according to team needs.
- Kiss3 and Life3 combined allow you to use the "Miracle" skill, which Revives with all HP, with a 100% success rate at a cost of 27 EP

Mushroom Spirits (Cross Version):

Blue -- Dimitri -- lasts 30 battles -- Increases Encounter Rate

Yellow -- Sonoko -- lasts 500 steps -- Finds Random Items
-- Brian -- lasts 500 steps -- Randomly Gives Money
-- Gail -- lasts 40 battles -- Randomly Throws Away Items
-- Mr. Y -- lasts 40 battles -- Randomly Throws Away Money

Red -- Mari -- lasts 900 steps -- Opens Red Doors
-- Takako -- lasts 500 steps -- Unfossilizes Robopon

I had more info on Blue Mushrooms, but didn't write it all down.

I say we continue this thing. We'll finish it and make it 'by' everybody who provided information.
Signing up for Robopon List #1-30.

You should get your 'pons to around L40 at least. Then you're close to the end of the game and you have access to secrets.

I dibs doing the magic mushroom one. Oh and i found somthing out about a Spirit called James. You get him from a blue mushroom. Although his power is crappy he has a somewhat hidden power....... He makes almost all battles that u get into: He makes you catch the enemies of guard. It happend 8/10 times for me. Im not sure if it works with battles but i know for sure it works for battles in the wild.

Er... when it says "Robopon 1-30", it means the stats, level-up info, experience growth (slow, medium, fast), type, oil, battery combo, etc. etc. for every 'pon from 1-30. Pre-tty hard, eh? This is going to take a while.

Sadly, I had a hefty-looking notebook full of notes on a lot of 'pon in this game, but it got thrown out by me mum during spring cleaning. Right now I'm so frustrated that I can't even play the game, and just kinda feel like killing something right now. Yey.

Erm, yeah, sorry. After somewhere around a year, my GameFAQs message boards have started working again! So, I'm back. STILL haven't beaten the game. -_-

Although, my team for attempting the Death Gaia will be GGT1337, SST1337, D'Art, and DeathK.

Training...I'll show you my stats when I find my game.

Here's a Waterwraith tip: Dodge it until the 5th floor. Then you can get purple pikmin. Toss them at the WW.

I saw the Hoffman Tower list and decided to elaborate on it a bit more I guess:

The tower gets a new floor after a set number of times of creating robopon from my experience. It doesn't even have to be new; you can build a full hoffman tower of bulbots/gears. I checked the tower after every increment of 10 and this is what I got. Anyway, I believe the tower did change after multiples of 10 made robopon.

10th floor: Made 250 robopon
9th floor: Made 200 robopon
8th floor: Made 160 robopon
7th floor: Made 130 robopon
6th floor: Made 100 robopon
5th floor: Made 80 robopon
4th floor: Made 60 robopon
3rd floor: Made 40 robopon
2nd floor: Made 20 robopon
1st floor: Free

The game gets decidedly laggier too after having 250 robopon in your exchange box, but luckily (or unluckily) the 10th floor has a robopon exchanger. And you can exchange robopon without the robopon counter decreasing so it's advisable to get rid of all your bulbots at that point...

Is there a time window to do the Fire* quest? I've talked to the fortune teller in Hindo and she keeps saying the same thing...which gives no hint about any girl whatsoever. Of course, if I activated the quest already with my initial talk with her pre-Hindo-destruction then I can't seem to go past the point of the Kappa in Nenji Valley >< Unless there's a hidden Kappa?

Where are you in the game? If it's your first time through the game, the fortune-teller will tell you about the quest after you go through the Death Gaia. If you have beaten the game before, even if you start a new game, the fortune teller will tell you about the quest after Hindo is destroyed.

I hope that made sense.
