Planning on buying the game from Steam but I'd like to know if I can run this game smoothly first.

I play on the PS2, but there are a few threads here that might help you.

If the game runs too fast, try setting it to run on a single core only. That's general advice for any older PC game on a multi-core PC.

That thread has my tech-support data dump for BG&E on the PC.

General notes.

- Keep extra saves on hand, there are some killer bugs in the game.
- There's a point of no return in the game, after which you cannot return and finish getting all the collectibles.
- You may also want a save from before the point of no return to get MDisk #13, which requires visiting the official BG&E website to get the code for.

If you always keep a save in Peyj's workshop (at the start of the game) you'll be fine.

- Jade can examine items in her inventory, spinning them around to look at them from all sides. This is critical for a few items.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
