About how many points will I need to unlock all of the characters?

Just got this game, and was a bit dismayed to learn that Akuma and Chun Li were not available right off the bat. Left the game running for a few hours in Training Mode last night, and had about 4,000 points when I got up this morning.

With that, I was able to buy Cammy and the other Wolverine, along with a couple of costumes and songs. Now it is showing Chun Li as purchasable, for about 2,000 points.

Does anyone know how many points I will need to get everyone unlocked? Debating on playing something else while I rack up points overnight, until I have everyone unlocked, rather than slogging through Arcade or VS Mode for hours and hours.

I just got the game recently, and the points seemed to be somewhat randomized. There's definitely a range, but if you keep going in and out of the shop, it'll fluctuate.

Yeah, I noticed that. I finally got it finished.

Turns out that it's MUCH faster to earn money by just setting the rounds to 30 seconds, the damage to as high as it can go, spamming Ryu's Hadouken and Shin-kuu Hadouken, then making it up to Abyss's third form and losing on purpose. I usually got at least 2,000-2,500 each time, and it only took about 10-15 minutes each time.

Leaving it running in Training Mode overnight usually yielded about 7-8,000 points. You could easily earn that much in a single hour of playing Arcade mode four times.

I had a turbo controller play arcade mode on its own. Worked very well.
