If you're starting out with GTA, it's probably best to start with GTA IV. Generally, the young people usually don't appreciate stuff before their time.

Vice City rules, go for it. Plus its only 10 bucks on steam, and the graphics are as high-res as your PC can put out. Well, not the textures, but still.

And it's worth noted San Andreas is a nightmare to play on the PC unless you have USB controller.

This is the best GTA. Best Atmosphere, best story, best soundtrack, best main character, best everything. Only thing that sucks is you can't swim but as we all know there's sharks in them waters so Tony'd probably get eating from the blood soaked clothes he wears.

SA's default keyboard settings is a nightmare. It's counterintuitive and does not match the general control scheme that most games use. If you remap the controls, it will be so much easier to play that game with the keyboard.
