Stage 5 boss defeated within time limit!

This was such a pain. You all know about it, but it is barely possible. I'm only able to beat the time by one second. Time limit is 55 seconds, you must defeat it in 41 to get AA+ for boss time.

At first this seemed impossible for one reason, the laser cannons. When you get the boss down to it's last life bar it summons I think 2 extra cannons, bringing it to 6. They all fire toward the boss making it impossible to attack. But it seems that if you damage it enough, so you eat into more of it's last life bar, it doesn't summon more cannons, and seems to get suck in it's old pattern just long enough for me to get in there and summon Guilt. The 4 cannons still fire back at the boss, but the they arrange differently and shoot away after that long enough for me to end it.

Basically went like this.

Run in and lock on, summon Guilt. Use GZ while Guilt attacks.

Shell is coming down so get to the corner, but let Guilt attack until the last second then delete. Got down 1 life bar and nearly half of the second.

After shock wave, red circles appear. This is where the whole thing can fail. If the circle is right by the boss, you can't attack at all, and might as well reset. If circle is somewhere else, you're set. Summon Guilt and GZ again. As soon as you are about to hit the last bar, get to the corner and keep letting Guilt attack right until the lasers are about to hit.

Boss uses 3x shockwave. Vines also come along the ground. I jump over to the other side of the boss, and hopefully the cannons are being random, I summon Guilt and end it.



So there you have it. I still need to figure out why the cannons randomly change their pattern, but other than that, AAA+ is ours.

Stage 5 Boss will always be annoying. If it's your first time through(or a new game), that's probably the most troublesome boss for everyone. At times, it could be more of a pain than the threesomes in Stage 4, especially with very little energy.

Thanks. This boss is the only one where pure luck is needed to succeed. I almost went insane having to replay the level and get the requirements only to fail over and over.

It also seems to have the highest defense of all bosses, like you said, troublesome. Fighting it for the first time takes around 7 minutes of constant attacking.

I got a crappy digital camera. It has the ability to make small videos, but the quality is terrible. Half the time a black bar appears on the screen, but it's watchable. I'm going to record some boss battles if anyone's interested. Right now I have a save on hard mode side B with Seig, so I'll be using that for now.

Birdman, I'd love to see those boss battles sometime..

Cool vids. Mad skills too. That game looks like fun. It reminded me of a SNES version I have somewhere. But this one is far more advanced by the looks of it.

In the first link, I hear the CL music that's Mist Ravine right? It sounds much different from the game. Is it another version?

About my vids, I'm just trying to beat the final bosses without anything going wrong. I've got a few vids of the same bosses but beating them in different ways, like stage 2 boss with just Seig, Hatred, or Guilt.

Yeah, it's Mist Ravine(Stage 7 theme). That was the one featured in the soundtrack.

I did have a full-length teamplay video of that game(with Chaos Legion music the whole way), but since YouTube won't let anything past 10 minutes, I decided not to upload them. Maybe in the future when I split them apart.

I've put all the clips I made into one video. It's 123 mb and I plan to put it to Megaupload soon. Is that size going to be a problem?

There were some bosses I wanted to make a few more fights with, but I'll do those later. I didn't include the bosses of stage 1,6, 12 and 13 because those are just a bunch of normal enemies. I didn't include stage 9 either, didn't feel like playing that stage, but will later.

Hmm, 123MB isn't bad. No problem with that.

As long as it has decent quality(320x240 minimum), it's good to go.
