How did Rune travel to Motavia from Dezolis?

When Rune is revealed to be the fifth Lutz at the Esper Mansion, it's clear he has been on Dezolis before as the old geezer there recognizes him and knows his name. So how did he travel to Motavia from Dezolis then?

I know this is just a detail, but I've actually thought about this for years and it keeps coming back whenever I start playing the game again.

Never explained in game.

I always assumed real magic because in the first Phantasy Star, Fly took you to the last visited church regardless of the planet.

Ryuka doesn't do that.

You are right about those spells in the first and second games. That doesn't explain why they didn't use that kind magic when the Profound Darkness came to Motavia and it was an emergency situation, teleporting should be faster than using a spaceship... ;). But I guess it was just a detail and too small to care about to explain, at least for that situation. Thanks for the replies.

That really would have been very cool, to see the group light up and vanish. But did the warning come up before they got Elsydeon? I don't think it did...

Well either way, the Elsydeon itself could have done it, since Alis knew FLY didn't she? (Speaking of which, what of Lutz?)

But how did your founding Esper wind up in Elsydeon, while place some of his "conciousness" in Telepathy Ball...?
