Well it would be great if they patch KOF96 for the input timing. Other than that, it's pretty flawless. Though I'm not sure if they are capable or interested in patching KOF96, I guess it will be up to the Japanese consumers to let them know since this is developed in Japan.
Not sure if they'll change that, SNK fighters have been traditionally more strict and less forgiving in the input timing department than Capcom's fighters. At least there is no input lag as was the case for the KOF2k2 ports, especially the XBOX version which was unplayable online thanks to both online and input lag. --- PSN: HyugaKojiro
You seem to forget that KOF '95 has a slightly better gameplay engine than both, KOF '96 and '97. Maybe that was because they were in a hurry to release the game, like the fanboys in their wikis state.
