Are the Metal Slimes in this game at all? I just beat the game and I didn't encounter one but I've heard they were in it. Just wondering where you find them if so.

They are. I believe that they are only encountered in the area to the south of Haukness.

Cool, I was wondering the same thing. I'll have to go look for them.

Probably the best place to hunt them is the clearing between the mountains and hills to the south of Haukness thats near the southern most bridge.

They can also be found near the first bridge but it's much easier to wander out of the enemy domain that they are located in that area.

For farther information about enemies and their locations I recomend the "Enemy Territory Map" located on this site.

Check out this map on the FAQ page. It shows the exact location:

Just, so You know, metal slimes are very rare and very difficult to kill. The may only have 4 (?) HP but their defense is SUPER high, even with the best sword in the game, you'll be lucky to do 1 point of damage. Also, they run away VERY easily, so they really aren't the XP gold mine that people assume they are. If you ever find one, just cross your fingers that you score a critical hit.

At higher levels (I think over 22 or so), you start to do noticeably more damage and can one-hit-kill Metal Slimes. Some people feel that this makes them valuable for leveling up in the later parts of the game.

But by the time you regularly do >1 damage/turn to metal slimes, you (1) can even defeat Charlock castle's enemies easy enough that that's a more effective place to train and (2) you should be strong enoguh to defeat the Dragonlord.

I actually just beat the Dragonlord at lvl 22 so I guess you don't really need an EXP mine that much in this game. Would be cool to see them though.
