If I buy magic at the first town in the shop, how do I equip/use it as magic? I can put it on someone as an item, but then it is only a one time use.

Also, the female's int went down a point. How the hell do I prevent stats from lowering?

Nvm, figured out how to equip spells.

Can one person learn all the spells? Or is there not enough space?

Spirit growth (white magic) can sometimes cause Strength loss.
Strength growth (attack) can sometimes cause Intelligence loss.
Intelligence growth (black magic) can sometimes cause Stamina loss.

You will generally get more growth than loss, if you use everything equally. But the easiest way to avoid loss; is to not use the skills which increase the opposing stat.

E.g. If you don't use dedicated Black magic users to Attack all the time, then they won't worry about Intelligence loss.
.......

Can one person learn all the spells? Or is there not enough space?

There are 40 spells in total, 20 Black & 20 White. However Characters can only learn 16 spells each.

3 characters could learn 48 spell between themselves, which would cover the 40 different spells and have 8 duplicates.
Although you will probably find that you use only a few favourite spells and won't actually need to have all 40.

So, is there any way to speed up this game? Like, using pro action replay or game genie codes. I'm sick of having to wait a minute every time four magic users spawn and cast their spell on every person.

Is there any purpose of me even continuing with this game? It's just extremely dull so far. Too much grinding, the level up idea completely sucks, you don't gain any hp or mp if it's going down slowly every battle rather than losing a chunk at once, can't skip battle animations and inventory is so tiny. 1/4 of it is taken up by key items.

Well you can set the Game Speed to 8, before you load a save file. (Push Left & Right to adjust the speed.) But I don't think that speeds up the battle animations, just the text.
......

You might be over-powering your characters too much, if you find yourself doing lots of grinding. (Which does make the game unnecessarily dull, so try to avoid it.)

Generally you only need to grind to have enough MP to use magic in dungeons, and when you want to power up a new spell that you just got.

Note: It's a good idea to try and be selective with spells. You will rarely use most of the spells that you find, so try to power up ones which you think you will make use of.
....

the level up idea completely sucks,

That you have to fight lots of tough battles to power up your stats & skills?
Or that you only power up the skills that you actually use in battles?
.....

you don't gain any hp or mp if it's going down slowly every battle rather than losing a chunk at once,

But if HP & MP are going down slowly then you don't need any HP or MP growths.

I.e. If this was a normal RPG then you wouldn't stop to level because you lose a small amount of HP & MP every battle. You would wait until you start losing lots per battle.

It's just annoying that I have to watch the battle animations of four magic users cast something like Ice 5 on my entire team four times.

I have about 128 mana on my main black magic user who has lvl 6 fire, then lvl 4/5 other elemental spells. Then the curing person is at lvl 4/5 with about 38 mana. And I mostly use magic if I know the enemies weakness or if there are like 7/8 monsters and can one shot all of them with one spell.

Are there any sites of maps of all the dungeons? I'm picking up silver equipment even though I already have better items than that; I'd rather just go straight to my destination.

If you haven't already then I suppose you could try getting more Agility stats so you act before the enemy casters.

I.e. The higher their Evasion% the better chance they have of an Agility growth.

For the original version? I used this site's maps for that:

http://shrines.rpgclassics.com/nes/ff2/maps.shtml

But it doesn't show the secret passages like the ones I used for the remakes (which change treasure content slightly).

8-bit RPGs operated on a different pace. FFI & FFII, especially with spells targetting all allies or all enemies seem to take a while. You can set the display speed, but I'm not sure if that affects the spell animation & sound effect, only how long the text boxes are up. For some reason, FFIII battles seemed to flow faster.
