Final Fantasy II

Give everybody heal.
Fists suck later game.
Give somebody a sword, an axe and a spear. Rest if up to you.

In the NES version, don't attack too much with your mage or you will get magic down.

everybody equip shields. offhand weapons don't increase damage, so they are pointless.

get Toad asap. It allows you to instant death almost anything when its trained.
don't waste too much time grinding out the elemental spells. they are only useful early game (ice especially).
