Wouldn't a 1/1/1 run be possible via the 2nd controller quick save?

Only with extremely good timing; IIRC the highest exp awards are 50 or 100 exp per frame, so it'd be VERY easy to finally beat the thunderbird after a hundred and sixty-eight tries, only to fail to quick-save before you hit 200 exp.

Wouldn't the experience continue to add up after you re-started the save?

Of course -- but that works even if it's a different save. Got a friend on your cart who needs an edge? ;)

I've done a 3/1/1, but no 1/1/1. And for seeing the 3/1/1 you'll need two things: a videocamera and a time machine. XD

As for 1/1/1, I don't think anyone'll complain if you use a code to lock your exp at 0.

I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out how I can do a legit 1-1-1 on the NA cart, and as far as I can tell it isn't in any way possible. You can do a 2-1-1 no problem (I've done several myself).

Unfortunately you need to grab the key first before quick saving, or the boss will be there when you restart your file. So no, this doesn't work.

Ah yes, I forgot about the key.

As for 2/1/1, you'd still have to use a quick grab-key-and-quit, as both Barba and Gooma give you the 500+ exp needed for attack level 3. Then again, for my 3/1/1 win I was *technically* 4/1/1 when I beat the game, as the Thunderbird's 1000 exp boosted me, and the only remaining enemy would take eight hits no matter what my attack was at...

Yeah there's I think 3 quick saves involved IIRC in a 2-1-1. Being able to gain 500 exp is more than enough time to grab keys from bosses though, whereas 200 exp is (just barely) too little.
