^ Yeah, I do those kinds of runs all the time. I've completed 8-1-1 runs without getting a game over, and I've gotten to the Thunderbird on one life many times on 1-1-8 runs but could never beat him because he has way too much health, lol.

It's quite the fight. He takes 96 hits on a 1-x-x game and 64 hits on a 2-1-1 game. Thunderbird with low attack is one of my favourite boss battles on the console.

...Why would you enjoy that?

It's definitely not fun for me. Gooma and Barba are arduous enough, but doable - the Thunderbird annihilates me every time. The Thunderbird is my only hindrance from completing a 1-1-8 run.

Why is it fun? Because of the satisfaction when you finally crush the thunderbird, of course!

My favorite Zelda game of all time. I wish they would have made more games like this. And no, I'm not referring to the Unholy Triforce of games that shall not be mentioned by name,

I still get my ass kicked in this game all the time, yet I don't whine about how hard it is. As great as later Zelda games were, the action elements of the game were just cake.

Best Zelda ever. I played the excrement out of this game as a kid, and I recently rediscovered the love with Journey of a Day and Shadow of Night. Good times.

Topic title is blasphemy.

This game kicks damn ass. I recommend that if anyone is having trouble with it, do what it takes to figure it out. I plan to play it again soon.

This is one of my favorite Zelda games. I wish many of the others were this challenging.

I wonder if TC still checks this topic occasionally just to see how wrong he is--or was. I would like to imagine that he gave this game another try.
