It had great art and music. A great intro cut-scene. Maybe some of the very first quick time events. And that without some lame button indicators that told you what to press. You had to figure it out. It was almost cinematic. And it had a sort of AI partner. One that didn't hider you, but helped you and gave you support.
Did you see the box art? It's a thing of beauty. Yeah, I think the game was very influential. The first game that (successfully) merged games and cinema together. It was incredible when I first saw it and it's still incredible today.
