Whenever I try going to battle.net, I get this error message:

There was an error writing to your hard drive while trying to download a file from battle.net. You may need to free some space. Please check your hard drive and try again.

My hard drive has 226 free GB left.

Are you using Vista or Windows 7? Try running WC3 as an administrator.

I'm on Windows 7. How do I run it as an administrator. I am the only person that uses this computer, so I may already be running it as an administrator if we're thinking of the same thing.

Diablo II online works just fine for me.

Just right-click on "Frozen Throne.exe" or whatever shortcut you're using to load the game, and click on "Run as administrator".

It's working. I don't get why it wouldn't just let me do it from the start.

I don't get it either, but for some reason this works.
