please help, stuck after grapple boss/dark blast power up, @Forgotten Bridge.

i beat grapple boss, got dark blast (before grapple boss oddly, but w/e.

this guide says:

"Swing back across the gap and go down the morph ball tunnel. Continue on to Forgotten Bridge. Move to the center of the bridge, hop up to the half-circle metal ledge and use that to leap through the waterfall to the portal. Turn it dark and step through."

no. i cannot do that. its too far to make the leap. why?

i have back tracked for hours now and there is seemingly no way i can continue the game. what am i missing, because i cannot get to the portal at Forgotten Bridge. i can see it, and baaaaaarely jump to it, but no...

i cant.

what did i miss because this is no longer enjoyable even though i KNOW where i am supposed to get too (via in game hint system)?

Are you on the circled-shaped middle part of the bridge? Check out the grate near the half-circled metal ledge, is it closed? If it is, you gotta open it using a Spinner on the other side, following the path that leads you to the Boost Guardian room. I don't remember if the Spinner is on the dark or light world, but after opening the grate the ledge lowers as well.
