New Game Database

You may have noticed updates on GameFAQs slowing down a little bit over the past few weeks. The reason for this is that we've been doing a lot of work on the back end of things with our game database. Our current database was created back in 2003, a mix of both the original GameSpot and GameFAQs game lists. It's grown and been tacked on to many times over the last 10 years, but hasn't kept up very well with the changing nature of video games. Things like multiplatform games, emulated re-releases of old games on new platforms, DLC, and titles split into multiple chapters are difficult to properly add into the old database.

It's time for a change. We've been hard at work building a brand new game database over the past few months, and we're moving to transition GameFAQs over to it today. Initially, you should see very few differences at all, although there may be a few glitches and errors in there. Over the next few months, we'll roll out more parts of it, and give our data contributors more tools to add to and edit our data. For now though, we'll keeping things looking and working just as they always have in the past.

If you encounter any new errors or glitches, please let us know using the following feedback form: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/feedback/index.php?type=20
