Tales of The World: Radiant Mythology 3 - English Menu Patch v1.02

Two questions for Judgment:

1. Your readme says to save the ISO as uncompressed. Will it not work as a CSO?

2. I've ripped ISOs from my own UMDs before, and alot of times you can save space by removing certain unneeded objects (typically the update). Do you know where the Data Install is located in the ISO? Its no longer necessary since we aren't playing through the UMD, and it'll save 100's of mb worth of space.

I am no expert here, but I suspect the "Data Install" features will copy over the namco.bdi file, which contains most of the game data to the memory stick.

You cannot "remove the Data Install" feature from the game, because you need it to play! Using it simply copies it over to the memory stick, and then that is read instead of the UMD.

If you are going to use a backup, then there's no point in using the Data Install feature.

I wonder if compressed images work... it really is up to the program to behave correctly. If "UMD Gen" can open properly and recompress properly a CSO file, then I don't know why it wouldn't work neither.

In any case, you can get the original ISO, apply the patch, then save it as a compressed CSO, and see if that works, right?

Sorry I am no Judgement, but I think I know a bit about the questions you made anyway xP

Hm. Different PSP games are compiled differently, I suppose. I know that in one of the Monster Hunter games, you can save something like 470mb by removing the data install from the ISO. Was hoping it'd work here.

And in the meantime, I patched my ISO and compressed it to a CSO, just to test it out. It didn't work for me, but then again, neither did the uncompressed one. My PSP is 5.50 Prome-4, and I just read that you need 6.XX+. Blah... I guess I'll have to update. I was trying to avoid it because it always breaks something. I've been part of the PSP hacking scene since the 1.5 days (good times), and everytime I updated my CFW, something ended up not working. And since I like my emulators as they currently stand... blah XP I have research to do, now.

Well, I am in the same camp... where I never updated my CFW until I got a new PSP.

Currently using PROCFW 6.35, and it was extremely easy to set up and use. Checking the site at google, I see they are up to version 6.60 now, though I probably have no need to update seeing how this version works beautifully for me.

Just a little googling gets you set on the right path.

I prefer playing my games from an uncompressed ISO directly because loading times are lower, and since I am only playing 2~3 games maximum at a time, I am not pressed for space :3

Though, it's been now six+ months since I don't play anything else other than RM3 o.O;

Ok so before I chose to download this, I patched my TotWRm3 to the official 1.01, will this clash with anything or will I be fine?

Dunno if you were talking about PROCFW or the game ISO xP So I'll answer to both.

No... not as far as I know. I am using that PROCFW 6.35 with an extracted original ISO of the game. It should be fine.

Game saves work just fine between pre/post-patched versions. Judgement knows.

Installing PROCFW is a breeze, extremely easy. The hardest part is checking that your official firmware is updated to the correct version of PROCFW you want before hand (instructions at the official site anyway).

Installing a backing-up app to extract the ISO is also easy. Though I don't recall the name of the one I use right now x_x there are a few out there.

Oh I wasnt talking about the ISO or Cfw ._. I was talking about the actual UMD.

I imported the game last summer, and beated the game 3 months later. I later found that the UMD/game actually has an official patch but Idk wth it patches in the game. It's version 1.01 and I just did what any guy would'nt wanna do, patch their game :p. So I just pressed triangle/update, then done, updated my game to 1,01 which adds the patch into your games folder for some reason ._. ( you cant play the game from pressing the patch for some odd reason I will never know.)

I akready have my psp to the latest OFW and using LCFW right now, so Im all good on that part.

So SK dood, can u research on wat the patch really does plox :O?

Oh, this is an official patch for the game? o.o;

Well, now colour me intrigued, I am curious on what it does, too. But I am not exactly good at researching things only in Japanese... x_x;

I wonder if there'd be a way to patch the game and then get a backup ISO that includes the patch somehow :S This is beyond what I know of :o

I'm not at home ATM, but anyway I just came here to warn Nick about updating to 6.xx. It WILL most likely break almost all of your save files that were made on the prom. There is an "easy" way to fix the corrupted save files though, but I can't link the tutorial now >_>

I'm using 6.39 ME ATM and I haven't ran into any problems yet. All of my emus etc. work fine. But yeah the only thing I had to do was to fix the corrupted save files.

There is an official patch for RM3? You sure you don't mean data install? I mean there is no idea to include an update for a game with the UMD...
