CajinPosted 3/16/2012 2:23:40 PM | I want to play this game but first I'd like to know if the storyline and gameplay is anything like Suikoden 2 which is the best jrpg I have ever played.
For those who have played suikoden 2 and loved it does this game deliver the same appeal? --- PSN: AstroV3 |
DoomerangPosted 3/16/2012 2:27:06 PM (edited) | It's.... apples and oranges in terms of story. They're VERY different. Same thing with the gameplay. This is real-time and rather hectic (in a good way). It has its own charm, but you really can't compare the two games because they're just too different. --- Kenshin's the Beauty, Kaoru's the Beast? - Mister_Feeny Would that make Shishioh the candle guy? - Gettles |
Bishop_SasaraiPosted 3/16/2012 2:25:11 PM | First off - you have great taste, though I would put Suikoden II behind III and V, personally. But it's a damned fine game, vastly underrated by most, and should be on the PSN.
Second off - Can't answer, haven't finished Graces. So I'm kinda useless here, but I get a gaming boner when it comes to Suikoden so yeah. --- Fellow gamers...PSN ID is HarmoniaVictor. |
bcsnakeeyes1Posted 3/16/2012 2:26:02 PM | LOL no, S2 is turned based. This is not and why would you even think that? Have you not played any of the other Tales games? --- "More like Stupei, Ace Defective", currently playing: HD MK2, ToGf |

There are actually a lot of common traits: young people's friendship put to test by the real world (there is a whole arc devoted to the characters' childhood), war, political strife and so on.
That said, Tales games are action-JRPG, there aren't 108 characters to recruit, tactical battles between armies or any other Suikoden system. |

I think you will enjoy it if you want a Japanese RPG with a strong focus on war, politics and character relationships. It isn't Suikoden, but then again why would you expect Tales to mimic that franchise? |
