I was a bit shocked to see this on their negative side of the review, and actually, now that I think about it, they also said the prologue was too long? I felt it was just right and introduced the characters to build up the story.

I didn't find the game too hard at all. In fact, there were only 3 bosses where I had to spend a bit of time skilling/leveling up, but other than that I had a blast with this game.

What about you guys?

I don't see how you can find this game difficult. I don't even play that hardcore; I run around as Asbel and occasionally issue orders to my party. I can't be bothered to switch who I control, and I do just fine. Sometimes, I think reviewers are playing a game with the controller upside down.

I played the entire game on Moderate and had difficulty with a boss once, and it was in Zhonecage, the optional harder-than-last-boss area. Fortunately, I had the ability to instantly reduce the difficulty level.

Gamespot sucks and the person reviewing the game was probably rushing through it and was bad at playing the game. How a zero penalty retry option with the ability to alter all facets of your party and game difficulty is punishing is mind baffling.

Never trust a gamespot review folks, they only give good scores to games that advertise on the site and they don't have any good reviewers anymore. Most left years ago.

Because the difficulty DOES spike at very weird times... In one area if I recall correctly it goes from easy monsters to very tough ones.

And remember it is their opinion.

I hope you're not talking about the Sandstretch, because those enemies are supposed to be endgame difficulty.

Thought the reviewer mentioned of inconsistent difficulty spikes, which there are, not that it was an overall difficult game.

You can make it easier?
You must be a wizard!

Not being sarcastic towards you, just people who apparently can't navigate a menu. btw

No I am talking about the regular ones during the story not that area

It's hard but with a little bit caution and grinding it's playable even on chaos.

I only turned down the difficulty to "hard" for Kurt because it seemed impossible for me even with lv 55 and many many titles to beat him on chaos. And i turned him to moderate again for the 60 seconds trophy.

I must say, i love grinding!
