This game had a ton of potential

the menus and presentation of this game is great with all the cars and whatnot. The game has a great track selection as well.

However the handling is so awful it ruins everything about this game.

Love it or hate it, it has the HEAVIEST feeling cars of any game I've ever played.
Aside from GT5, I've tweaked the steering settings on most of my other games to somewhat emulate the feel of Shift2.

I don't mind the handling and I actually quite like the game. I just wish it would start awarding me my prize money for ranking up :|

Does it become more difficult?

I'm using the elite handling model with every assist turned off (excluding ABS) and AI set to hard. So far it's been a cake walk.

Yes, VERY.

I seem to be completely stuck on A class, and haven't been able to advance. I think part of my problem is that there are SO many tracks to learn.

I'm glad to hear it becomes more difficult.

What event are you stuck on?

I agree, there's a lot of tracks to learn and a fair amount that aren't in other racing games. Plus I play with the map off lol.

^^ Me too. Maps aren't "sim" :)

I don't remember exactly which event's got me, but it's a race with a Zonda on Road America.
Which is weird because I know that course quite well.

I'm also stuck on the night variant of Bathurst in the GT3 leagues.

that there are SO many tracks to learn.

For me this is actually the best part of the game, Shift 2 has the best track selection of any racing game I've played.

I haven't completed all events yet, D/C/B events can be won quite easily, but for A-class events you need to really learn the track and find a good setup to win the races.

ZOMG The AI is insanely aggressive on hard. My poor Caterham definitely has some new dents.

Well I'm comming back to say I stuck with this game and finally got sorta a feel for it.

I can't drive with my wheel, but the ds3 works better for this game.
