It's a great game. You should get the addons, at least get Modern Times.

I was in the middle of the same debate, all the add-ons are 75% off as well! (until August 13th) I have played the xbox demo, but does this game excel even more on the computer? or is it only awesome with the proper hardware?

Hard to tell as I've only played it on a gaming computer. the graphics aren't that much of an improvement from Tropico 3, but when your island gets a large population, your computer will start to lag unless you got the power.
