How do you change starting heroes in custom game?

It appears you can only choose two, might or magic, per faction. Am I missing something?

You have to create a custom hero under dynasty heroes and select the portrait you want and choose might or magic. You build the skill tree during the game so this basically allows you to choose the portrait and ability you want at start.
