So as far as I can tell, there is no good melee build in this game

Even builds like lightning strike play like a ranged character.

Poor design, you can't tank anything so you are forced to kite.

This is the same thing that killed D3.

Are you talking Merciless?

In Cruel, even act 3 where I am now, my Duelist can jump right in the midst of a pack and fight his way out. Archer squads are a little dangerous, as are exploding enemies, but...

Usually the characters who are too flimsy are simply built wrong - too much offense, not enough health and defense.

You seem to be just turning into the typical troll.

Melee is harder but easily viable endgame.

Just because you can't stand in one spot and take every bit of damage the mobs throw at you doesn't mean melee isn't viable. This game isn't supposed to be that easy...you still have to move around, dodge projectiles, and sometimes yes even kite a bit. Melee is very viable.

I do think Melee needs abit of a boost but it is far from a total write off.
