I'm looking at trying to craft a 6L chest as I don't have one, but wondering if it's worth it to spend the Armorer's scraps if it'll save me some fusing/jeweller's orbs

Does a 20% quality item have a significantly higher chance of getting 6 slots or 6 links?

I hear it does effect it, I doubt anyone has any solid number or proof. The common hearsay is that it increases the itemlevel I believe, Higher item increases the chance for sockets and such.

20% does increase the chance of rolling 6S and 6L but its a pretty small increase. It does indeed work though. I've went from a 4S0L to a 4S4L in ome fusing just by 20%ing it. As for 6L, the increase is probably low on top of the low chance of getting it. It ultimately is all RNG.

You could always get stupid lucky and hit 6l in one I suppose.

Well, the reasoning behind this is it says in their descriptions that it consumes the quality to increase the chance of more sockets/links.

I was just wondering if there was any solid anecdotal evidence, but it appears not.

In my experience Q20 is a fast way to get 1s out of a Jeweller's Orb. I've tried it six or seven times and every time it's been one socket. Comparing that to getting 6 sockets in under 20 orbs on a Q20 weapon and I don't really like the cost or the odds involved.

On the other hand I had a 6S2L2L weapon at Q20 the other night that I'd completely forgotten was Q20 when I dropped a fusing orb on it and got 4L out of it. I'm banking more on coincidence or that I could've maxed it at 5L if it hadn't been Q20, but my experience with jeweller's orbs and quality might have prejudiced me.
Stop complaining. I could have done this more painfully. - Dryad from Sacred 2.

By definition, anecdotal evidence is NOT solid.
