I don't know, I'm pretty sure suspension of disbelief kicks in the moment you have fireballs and the like. It's a pretty slippery slope from there.

The more layers of reality you need to disbelieve the harder it becomes to do so. It's easier to willingly suspend disbelief with regards to what goes on in Skyrim than to do so while also suspending disbelief over all the dragons having been turned into Skylynx clones or Macho Men.

It rather ties in with the argument that unreality as compared to our "real world" reality does not necessitate total anarchy. By that I mean that just because you shoot flames from your hands in Skyrim it doesn't mean that having all the goats act like Mr. Toots from Red Faction: Armageddon isn't unrealistic as hell within the context of the Elder Scrolls lore/mechanics/universe.

It was interesting when the same discussion played out on the board for World of Diablocraft when I mentioned the unreality involved in having the power of a fireball boosted by a plain old battleaxe, especially when by the mechanics/lore established by the two preceding titles that was highly unrealistic.

Still, it is highly amusing to see just how many people seem to think that games, novels, movies, and other forms of art/entertainment don't (almost always) need to have their own internally consistent and, within the context of itself, believable reality. :-D

so is this better than the amulet stone of azwhal for endgame blocking builds?

i see many/most builds use the stone (applies 50% of block chance to spells)

Because you can't evade spells.

You can, however, get a 30% chance to dodge spell damage.

Doubt I ever will, especially not in a public topic. Don't see a point in sharing specific personal information like that in a public venue and a few points in not doing so.

Not everyone is going to take Phase Acrobatics.

Yup but if you are a shadow/ranger Phase acrobatics is a huge bonus. Especially if you are playing pure evasion.

Chance to block spells is huge. That's why most builds focused on blocking will take it. Act 3 Cruel onwards is prob where you'd need it the most.

Still haven't hit 70, 65 now, not much time to play lately. I changed my main skill from Cleave to Double Strike and I am breezing through 66 maps now.

I am using an Alchemy Orb on every map and can run any mods so far, the only mod I need to be careful with is -max resistances.

At 70 I will move up a few map levels and see how it goes.

Found one last night in a Map. Medium-rolled. Definitely gonna check out a block build later with it.

Awesome!

The mana and life per block should not be overlooked, with 78% block getting up to 40 life back per hit is amazing (I only have a 30 roll need to upgrade). I can march into huge groups on mobs and my life barely moves.

Anyway, I just hit 70. Armor shot up to 7300, now doing rare 68's (all mods, cruising with no issue so far). I only have a few 69's so I won't be moving up just yet.

I may liquidate my old sporker and really beef up this character.

Are you following a certain Skill Tree guide or just making up your own build?
