Basically the game for every class is build tanky or die in 1 hit.

>_>. I went through more than half of normal without resistance. Then come Act 3; Piety, General Gravicius, and Domicus wreck face in 1 hit.

Now all I look to find a nice weapon and then find the best equipment with good life and resistance. Specifically lightning resistance. All the other stats aren't relevant.

I streamed through all of Cruel without a problem.

yup there's a reason why they call it Path of life nodes. Or you might get the L2P lot calling you ca casual or something stupid like that.

Yup, bosses are generally considered hard. You'll definitely want a lot of Life and Resistances if you want to tackle Merciless and beyond.

It's a bit unlike that other game where you just stack Crit and faceroll the game =)

you do always have to build tanky since it's just how the game is, but as far as other equipment stats being useless, that's not true. one of the most valuable stats on gloves is attack speed (for builds that use attacks); the most valuable stat on boots is movement speed; and if you count sockets/links as a stat, you'd probably want to use a 5/6L chest piece with okay stats over a 4L (or less) chest piece with more life/resists.

or you can do a wall run and run on the wall whilst shooting your enemy into the dark and deep beyond.

By the way; what's the point of the classes? There's no class restrictions for items and the only thing I see different is quest rewards. You can have a Shadow bowman wearing all heavy warrior armor. A Marauder wearing robes and playing as a summoner.

Different biases towards different things.

For example, a Marauder starts out with his two main paths as Melee Physical Damage or Armour/Life. If you were a Caster or a CI character, a Marauder wouldn't be the optimal choice.

It also means that certain classes can access certain keystones and other important nodes more directly than others, which means that some builds are less efficient for certain classes, since they need to spend more points to reach said nodes.

This too. Sure a Duelist/Ranger can be a CI Caster but Ghost Reaver and CI are so far away from their starting positions that you'd have to be a minimum of level 50 some just to reach the node if you rushed there.
