Basically the game for every class is build tanky or die in 1 hit.

Thats funny, my witch hasnt picked one life node.

You'll have to excuse MadCow. He occasionally makes a fool of himself with comments like those. Little did he know there's Energy Shield-based builds that revolve around Chaos Innoculation.

Or build like a tank and die in 1 hit anyway

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-Vg26VsHhQ

This guy got 6k HP and 90% fire res and lost over 5000 in 1 shot. Crit or whatever, this shouldn't happen.

Apparently they're reducing the damage on this rogue and on some others and limiting their Vaal skill usage, but it is evident that these creatures were NOT playtested at all, not even once.
Because any tester who spawned the unit next to him and let it shoot him a few times would've immediately realized that the damage is out of whack.

And not just with this one but several others as well. I like this game but I honestly can't take the BS they're doing for much longer.
At some point too much is too much, and these kind of balance changes or new features are close to what early D3 changes were. And that's not a compliment.

Well first off the guy didn't get one shotted. He didn't die. And then yeah, it's the Vaal Burning Arrow. Its linked with LMP/GMP and it Crit him.

Exiles are well-balanced. They just added in the Vaal Skills during the SOTV update and their difficulty ramped up because they became quite dangerous since they can use their Vaal Skills much more frequently than a regularly player would. This is not intended and it's getting fixed later this week in a patch.

He didn't die but only because his defensive stats are well above average, almost any player would've died in 1 shot there.

And what gets to me is that these changes were clearly not tested at all as mentioned above, as even a single instance of fighting against them would have revealed that they are grossly overpowered.

I dunno if they feel pressured to constantly release new content/features to please/retain the players or whatever the reason for the quick pace of release is, but this is simply unacceptable.

I'm just looking forward to see what will develop from Chris Wilson's statement on Reddit (pasted below), because the people who are currently doing it are missing something big.

"It's not so much yo-yo balancing as me becoming more involved in the balance again and changing stuff back that I didn't like. I completely trust the rest of the balance team, but people's individual design philosophies differ and you'll be seeing more of mine in the near future.

I'm reintroducing the development manifesto soon so I'll try to be more specific there."

I think its being looked at too deeply. They only became dangerous when they were given Vaal Skills with a short cooldown. Remove that, and they're back to where they were, regular Exiles.

It's not like they were brokenly OP beforehand, and now with Vaal Skills they're unbeatable. I've killed tons of Exiles since SOTV released. They just took much longer than previously before.

And that quote is awesome. Can't wait to read the Development Manifesto again.

They're already planning on nerfing the Vaal Skills as well as the life of Rogue Exiles in the next patch. The Rogue Exile featured in particular is going to be heavily nerfed.

Yep, it's a good thing that they are, I just think that with a little foresight and testing, this could've saved many players the frustration of dealing with something that is blatantly unfair.

And I think that the rogues didn't only get Vaal skills in that one patch that added them, they were also "rebalanced" in the same patch that did it for the invaders.
Before this I could pretty much kill any rogue without much trouble even on difficult maps, but after I've seen some that were a lot stronger or even killed me.

The summoner one for example has Minion Instability now on her/his creatures apparently, I don't think that one had that before. Coupled with Vaal Skeletons it means a world of hurt for melee characters.

Nah, it was only for the Invasion bosses.

"Substantially rebalanced Invasion bosses, including changing their abilities. Many of the more extreme ones are now easier. Corrupted secret area bosses and Rogue Exiles were also updated in this process."
