"Path of Exile’s economy is the most important element of the game to us."

one sentence sums up the entirety of the games design choices. I really wish it wasn't so. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against the currency it's self as it's fun to toy around with but the infrequent drop rates and poor drop rates are all governed by the "economy".

This even affects the core game play it's self.

And yet you're still here, constantly posting about the game.

Looks like they're doing something right.

Never said they weren't doing "something" right. They just do so many things wrong.

i dunno, i think the drop rates are pretty ok. you'll rarely get the exact item you want, but you'll probably get something you can sell for enough currency to buy what you need.

and even if you don't get any lucky drops, you can do maps with only a couple ex of equipment (or less than an ex if you're running a dirt-cheap build like searing bond). you'd only need a couple days of piety/dom farming using the chaos recipe to buy good enough gear for endgame farm, and chances are you'd have enough currency from just playing the game by the time you've gotten there.
or you can do a wall run and run on the wall whilst shooting your enemy into the dark and deep beyond.

especially with the very inelegant and archaic trade system. Drops are centered around the crappy economy because it's the "most important" mechanic in the entire game ;/
