It was so underwhelming. Pretty slow paced and it didn't even have me hyped up. The way he casually strolled up and pulled his pistols out didn't remind me at all of what I love from the ridiculous action of DMC. And he... threw a car? That's it? Ugh, hire someone else to make a better first trailer please!
I thought the shape shifting weapon was pretty badass. And how he was jumping impossible distances? How are these things not over the top? I kinda agree about the gun action though.
yeah that weapon thing is pretty damn cool
Kaine: "Or maybe I'll put you in the goddamn furnace! How can someone with such a big, smart brain get hypnotized like a little *****? Huh?"
I liek that it was kinda grounded.
^Nah, sorry. When I heard there was a new controversial DMC trailer, I thought "Wow, what's happened" and all I saw a a skinny guy saying he's Dante, sorta half-assed fighting some drippy puppets whilst some dude asking WHAT IS YOUR NAME three times.
My reaction (as of this moment)
Actually, yeah - I think this kinda sums up all my feelings at this point. When we get gameplay trailers, I'll have another think.
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road. Neither human, nor devil... all bends to my will"
I agree with TC. Yuji Shimomura did a fantastic job with DMC 3 and 4. Hell, the DMC 3 trailer blows this one out of the water.
So, basically you mean it's lacking the driving of motorcycles up the side of a vertical tower? Yes, some of the over-the-top action sequences in DMC are absolutely delicious... but some I could do without.
For DMC standards there was nothing over the top or high speed in that trailer.
This is GameFAQs. People here take great pride in ignoring common sense.
Man looking at 3 and 4's trailers make me sad. They had me hyped for the game's release. Now this new one just fills my soul with anger.
DMC3's intro to Mission 1 made my jaw literally drop. I'd never seen anything so cool. This trailer didn't do anything for me, and his weapon looks gimmicky and crap - sort of a mix of Dante's Inferno's Death Scythe, and weapons from Prototype. Neither game was that enjoyable to me.
I just hope DMC doesn't turn into another God of War/Castlevania/Dante's Inferno/Bayonetta that decides it simply *must* have a whip like weapon in the mix. Sure, I like it in some of those games (God of War/Castlevania since it's a trademark weapon), but DMC's always been able to do sword combat so well, especially with 3/4's engine.
Even Lucifer/Pandora's Box felt a little gimmicky in DMC4, we need solid weapons like Rebellion, Agni & Rudra and Beowulf. Nevan was a little odd, but at least it was a fairly late weapon that added a new style of gameplay to master aside from the more classic weapons.
