I was thinking (Psychological term for what I was doing is Incubation), and I know I, as a simple man, am not supposed to do that, but I did it anyway and so here is what I came up with: I am NOT getting this game.

Why is that? I'll tell you why:

It's not because of the change in Dante's look. It's not because of the trailer. It's because of NT's track record, Tameem's attitude, and (mostly) the fact that Capcom seems to think we are a bunch of idiots.

They changed Dante, not becuase of what they wanted him to be, and lets face it, there is going to be no growth, no character development that could possibly cause Donte to become Dante as he was at the beginning of DMC3, in case this is a prequal. I also have no intention of playing this as a Reboot, because I refuse to be apart of what this game is becoming. They did not do it for character, they did it for money. They are willing to manipulate us, the consumer, simply for the money.

Now yes, they are a business, they need money. However, changing an gaming Icon, simply to piss off fans to get easy press, is a low blow I will not tolerate. There are better ways to get money, and that is selling a quality product that fans will love, and also making sure that fans, both new and old, know what they are getting into.

I suppose you could say that I just hate their business practices. Resident Evil 5 will likely be the last Capcom game I buy, simply because I refuse to get jerked around like a donkey wanting that carrot. I will be taking my money to Visceral Games (Dead Space) who actually have a person (Steve Polouski or something like that) who talks to their playerbase on facebook, and answers questions to the best of his ability monthly. I will also be taking my money to Valve, who updates their games for free and add new content into it, also for free.

So, with my final words to Capcom; Enjoy your position on my "List of companies to buy from" right next to Activision. You'll be staying there for a while.

And my final words to you guys: Keep up the good fight. I ain't going to stand for this, and I hope you guys don't either. I will still lurk this board for a bit, but meh, I fully expect a full amount of derogitorry posts.

That conviction's pretty awesome.

For me, the trailer pissed me off, but I thought, "They can turn this around. This is probably just a reeeeally rough...rough draft. It's possible that they could turn this around."

HOWEVER, Tameem's attitude pushed me over the edge. I'm not getting this game. They've blatantly insulted their customers, and they're not listening to any of us. So screw 'em. I'm not supporting this game.

So, congrats Capcom and NT. It really takes a massive ****-up for a big DMC fan like myself to not buy something with the DMC title attached. Hope you're proud of yourselves. (>____>)

why don't we all just point our middle fingers at Tameem and Alex Jones and just LAUGH in their faces when this game bombs and ends up buried in that mexican desert along with Atari's buried E.T garbage:

I personally think we're beating a dead horse. I already accepted the fact that DMC would be a failure in my eyes, no matter how many copies it garners. I say, if this game really does turn out as bad as we think, and capcom is happy about the final product, then i say, good luck to the DMC series, im moving on to other series that actually stick to the basics of good games. TC is right on all accounts. Change is never a bad thing if it's justified and something people can easily accept, but this is sad. I'm not gonna wait til 2014 for a new, normal entry. Sorry.

This is one of the best posts I've seen on this board so farto sum up what's going on with DMC's development. Capcom as a company is really losing credibility with me. They are taking the lazy route with every major game with their logo on it. I look back at the classic Resident Evil's and the Devil May Cry's and I just can't believe the direction they've taken in this modern day, just to fill their pockets some more.

I turned to Visceral Games a long time ago. Capcom and Ninja Theory have no interest in what the fans think or what they want. Seriously, I've never seen so much rage toward a game, and they do nothing to make us feel better about it. As a consumer, I willnot be buying this unless this thing turns out to be the world's biggest surprise.

Welcome aboard the DmC Hate Train. I'm your friendly conductor and I'm here to tell you that we're here to make sure Capcom and Ninja Theory feel the full force of our hatred. Be sure to present me with your tickets upon boarding.

That's part of the problem. They've been making quality action games for a while (Bayonetta, DMC3 and 4, well, not so much 4 when you factor in the plot) and they haven't been selling well. Only just recently has Bayonetta surpassed the 1 mil mark. Freaking Bayonetta! And it's on two consoles to boot! God of War 3 reached the 2 millions by that time. I am not defending Capcom's actions of late, but I'd think it's time to change a few things at this point too. Now I am not even going to pretend to comprehend what appeals to casuals and the masses because back in my day, if a game was good, we bought it. But apparently, making a good game just isn't enough.

But to change it to the point of being unrecognizable to the fans? There are many ways they could have changed this game and kept the fans fairly satisfied and I am not even touching on the attitude of Ninja Theory which has not helped this project one iota.

Unless the real Dante shows up many fans will leave this franchise and I don't know if with keeping the name and title it will garner enough new ones to make it up.

Instead of comparing DMC4 to Bayonetta we need to look at how well it did. I see no reason for a reboot or what they are trying to sell us now. They have thrown out prequel but that isn't going to work in my mind( this can't become Dante DMC3).

TC, I suggest posting this on the Capcom forum....not that it will do any good.

Posting i t on any Ninja Theory forums wouldn't work either. All he'd get is a "I Don't Care!"
