Knowing NT's style of programing gameplay. HS and Enslaved didn't have jump buttons and have way too similar gameplay. So seeing the possible gameplay on the trailer alone the new Dante can never really jump, it's like on screen command jumps to press X when you need to dodge or jump somewhere. It's seen at certain situations in the trailer like shooting one of the the marionette moving towards him slowly, it's like a counter move when he jumped and noticed the new Dante is still firing the other gun at the air? Another is the running towards the alley then at the end just like Enslaved and HS. Another is the ground pound it's like a setup for an aerial assault like in HS. Also the falling at the end and jumping of the wall seems you need to press a certain button "Square" and time the wall jumps.

But we dunno yet if this DmC has jump button or not. But looking at what they gave us it seems it won't. Unless some gameplay footage is shown and the final product has a jump button.

No, Capcom themselves are handling the gameplay so things like that doesn't happen.

I really hope so. The design from the get go fails also If the story fails, gameplay is the only saving grace for this DmC.

Luckily I'm not one to focus on story or other secondary factors.

I only look forward for gameplay.

Can you post a link where it says Capcom is working on game play? I have only gotten that Ninja Theory is 'working with Capcom or Capcom is "overseeing" which doesn't really say anything.

^In the G4 interview with Tameem and Alex Jones, Alex said that Capcom in Japan is working on the bosses and most of the gameplay (I think). As far as I know, it's on Youtube.

On another note, I could have swore I had the ability to jump in Heavenly Sword...

I saw that interview. I gathered that Japan was working on the bosses but the game play was NT. It doesn't make sense but that is what I got from it. I don't know, they are either terrible at interviews, don't care or are being evasive on purpose.

It has been so long since I played HS I don't really remember. I thought it was more a dodge or roll but then again, a long time ago, one playthrough. I get forgettable games mixed up. I was impressed with graphics but not game play with it which I feel is what NT is basically known for.

Seriously, if Capcom has more input with this game, is it that much of a big secret not to tell us? That isn't revealing anything and it might ease fans worries. It almost seems they think they have something up their sleeves and are waiting for a big reveal and we will love it. Personally, that won't happen with me unless it is something spectacular and I am not feeling it.

I can get more information from those damn White House conferences than these interviews.

I was thinking about this and isn't this game being built on the UE3 engine which is what NT uses for all their games? This isn't the engine of the previous DMC games. So I am just guessing here but it seems to me that if Capcom was handling the game play then they would use their engine and leave the graphics and story to NT. I am guessing NT has more of a hand in the game play than we think. I don't see two different teams working on game play but then I only know about smaller companies and smaller games.

@myghostisdead: From what I gather from the interview, your right! It seems they are the ones working on the gameplay, but they are being supervised by Capcom. Which counts a lot in my book! They also said they want to keep the core gameplay, that fans loved so much and only expand upon in it. Whether they screw it up or not... we'll just have to wait and see.
But I'm pretty sure the game will HAVE a jump button. In the same interview trailer, they said they wanted to include the cinematic action in the gameplay and we witnessed Dante do 2 jump attacks in the teaser trailer. So why do a simple jump combo in the cinematic, if you can't even do it in the game?
