They managed to make a DC Comic book game that did NOT suck ass. In fact it's even better than the Spidey games. It's without a doubt the best comic book game I ever played, although once you finished it on Hard and completed the challenges there is nothing else to do.
But damnit, Arkham Asylum was awesome. Arkham City will be awesome if it's HALF as good as Asylum.
The overhaul for darker and gritter was for the better, unlike what Ninja Theory tried with this.
If Rocksteady was at the head of DmC I would definitely have a lot less problems with it.
They at least wouldn't have pulled stupid crap like half-angel and if Dante had to be grittier and a non-clown they would at the very least know how to keep him awesome. Think DMC2 with personality.
Seriously, look at how they made Killer Croc of all things genuinely scary. They even got the background info right in the character backgrounds. Fitting voice actors (Mark Hamil as the Joker was downright awesome and a blast to my childhood Saturday mornings)
Yes, if anyone could do what they are TRYING to do with DmC, Rocksteady could definitely pull it off.
From Software?
They could. They have experience in the type of game and Demon Souls was disgustingly awesome.
And hard.
And gritty but not punk.
...
Give it to From Software if Platinum doesn't get it.
