StrelokPosted 4/14/2012 4:42:50 AM | The thing is that Capcom has completely lost its mind the last few years. I wouldn't put it past them that they already did away with the classical DMC formula.
The major thing about this entire project is that *NOTHING* of value was lost if it were either an entirely new ip, or the story of an entirely different character and that the shift in art style is explained by it being a different character who is seeing things from a different spectrum, see also the movie Hoodwinked where the same story is being told from two perspectives, where the scene is dark, creepy and foreboding with the wolf having glowing eyes and being really damned big when Hood talks about meeting the Wolf, and the exact same scene being light, cheerfu, them being almost as big and such when the wolf gives his version.
I could understand that and wouldn't be afraid that a series I stuck with since release would be butchered to nonrecognition, like Shadowrun really. --- Goodbye Bubbles, dearest of pets. In the 4Chan comment, it's stated it doesn't feel like DMC.
I agree with everything else you said. Good points. --- To be fair, no one has unlimited patience, and at times this board could come close flustering the Buddha.-geekneck99 |
KyryloPosted 4/14/2012 5:27:52 AM | I'll be here. 'cause I gonna rent it to pick it asunderXD |
sfvfkofPosted 4/14/2012 5:35:03 AM | I'll be here for maybe a week or two, to get a feel for how DMC 3 fans who rented or bought a copy feel about the finished product and to see just how crazy the storyline went. |

No it didn't, it had a vague thought used as a sells gimmick and nothing else. ORC is basically a watered down and unbalanced Outbreak game. --- Gamers have lost their pride. Complacency can be a sin. |
PineappleFistPosted 4/14/2012 8:46:19 AM | Don't most boards die pretty quickly after a game releases anyway? I know that I (being a DmC supporter) won't be here once the game hits. I might pop in every once in a while to ask a question or trade opinions, but I can't see myself sticking around much longer than a couple of weeks.
I would hope that most of the detractors would leave though. I mean, at that point it goes from being a morbid curiosity, to... well being kind of sad.
Case in point: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/960554-metroid-other-m
Common logic would dictate that MOST would leave, but... well this is gamefaqs after all. I would hope that, for their sakes, they'd leave and go on to bigger and better things, but misery loves company so... --- Since 1998. Grasshopper Manufacture. Punk's Not Dead |

But that's what DmC is. This Dante isn't supposed to be the same Dante. The whole thing is different spin on the source material.
That being said, I understand the fear of DMC being replaced by DmC. But that is simply not enough to justify that a product a lot of people worked on and put much effort and time into fails. Yes, a product can be bad, and it should be criticized, but to openly hope that something does horribly is just something I can't partake in. --- ~@_@~ Why are you people so hung up on what's canon or not? - freakazaa |

Yup, sounds like Gamefaqs to me. I think I'd just about **** myself if I lurked into a board where everyone was all chummy and positive. --- Since 1998. Grasshopper Manufacture. Punk's Not Dead |
