Look at this intense Nelo fight.

And then SH3 because you get extra scenes when you play that game with a SH2 save file.

Don't get him so pumped, they are just little nods. XD

To relate this topic to the new DmC, I'd like to ask supporters and non-supporters this question - Do you feel that IGN will rate DmC high?

Well, let's see:
-NT for some reason is loved by the press
-The game looks nice (YMMV)
-The game on its own doesn't seem terrible
Yep, very likely if not certain.

Any score above a 6.5/10 I call shenanigans on.
I absolutely loathe the entire "OMG THEY'RE SO AWESOME!" schtick the press seems to have for Ninja Theory who couldn't even f***ing program a jump in their first game and still had to get help from Capcom for the very basics of DMC combat.

Yes. That's the same site where it was stated that DmC will be superior to DMC in every way. Their whole mindset just reeks of "sticking it to the haterz".

IGN is just about the most overrated site on the Internet. It'd be satisfying to see another review like Ninja Gaiden 3, but I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Man, I could have sworn that Nelo did way more damage-per-hit than that.

Interesting. Although I'm still neutral with my standpoint, I can't help but to agree with you guys. Just look at the reviewer playing the original game; they obviously tasked someone who doesn't know a lick about the game. However, take a look at the gameplay from DmC. When you compare and contrast the two, they are obviously trying to make DmC look better.

Fans of the previous series obviously know that DMC was made to be played better than that. The people that Capcom want to appeal to don't know that. I suppose you could say that they're really pushing for an "Easy Automatic" mode for DmC. They are "dumbing" down the game to reach a new fan-base.

On the flip side, I guess you could also say they are trying to be courteous to past fans by staying in touch with the original gameplay [amazing combos, launchers, gunplay, etc.]

When will publishers realise this never really works? To market a series to new fans you just need better marketing or gameplay improvement IF the series is poo.

Except that at times this does work (sadly). Bethesda games anyone? It's just that this was the wrong series (DMC is hardcore, relatively speaking) at the wrong time (DMC4 isn't that old) for the wrong reasons (series was still strong, young and healthy) to try this kind of trick.

To be fair, Bethesda games DO improve a bit (Oblivion is a sad exception)
Morrowind was considerably less buggy than Daggerfall (And I love Daggerfall), erased some skills and merged them in actual gameplay (Critical Strike, climb was unnecessary, etc).
Oblivion... yeah, oblivion needed mods.
So far, while not having PLAYED it due to lack of time and funds to buy a new game, I only hear good things about Skyrim.
Fallout 3 wasn't even as bad as everyone seems to scream (In fact if anything I'd say Vegas was a lot worse, buggier by far at any rate and somehow... lacked something. I can't put my finger on it but I grew extremely bored with it once I hit level 15 or so).
Yes, neither is Van Buren, but seriously people, VB was cancelled and won't ever see the light of day. I have come to terms with that 6 years ago.
And say whatever you want, but Call of Chtulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (Fair, only published by Bethesda) was absolutely amazing.

I have far far more issues with the Star Wars prequels. And the games released in that era aside for a very select few (Bioware games, Republic Commando). And now we get crap like the Kinect game WHICH SHOULD BURN IN THE FIERY PITS OF HELL!
