Jesus, grounded in realism? There's no one who looks that messed up.

I really am not fond of that design.

I think the realism applies to the characters personality, emotional stability, struggles, and the contemporary world in which it all takes place in. Those are the parts that the player can relate with.

it's a damn videogame so it has to have those fantasy elements to it.

It doesn't have to have fantasy elements. I also can't really relate to a world that's full of demons running everything... or to a guy who works for an underground organization.

#1: It wouldn't be DMC without those fantasy elements. Because if it was completely rooted in reality, Dante wouldn't be able to perform those insane combos that the DMC games are known for.

#2: You can relate to the social media, boy bands, energy drinks, loans, debt, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, and money hungry banks and corporations...right?

These are the things that the real world consist of and is the foundation for the world in DmC..

Lollerstar, that is just dumb.
Seriously, you know what game also had it, and did it way *WAY* better, in the 1980s?
Shadowrun.
Seriously.

Do you ever stop being a bebbie downer Tripweed.?

Everybody else in here are taking in all the new info and handling it very well I might add. But you just stay in one lane constantly.."THE NEGATIVE LANE" and never stop at a rest stop.

It's really getting old.

Well, I do.
For a game "more grounded in reality" and we get this... this thing that makes Shadowrun players (who love cyberware and weird retro costumes) cringe... yeah, you did something horribly wrong.
Especially when he looks DUMB. I mean, Kat looked bad. VINO looks awful. DINO looks atrocious.
But ALL of them, and I mean *ALL* of them, look like damned fashion models and pornstars compared to... whatever the HELL this thing is supposed to be.
I guess there is an upside, I appreciate the look on the other characters so much more now.

He looks ridiculous, I can't take this thing seriously, whatever he is supposed to be.

And Lollerstar, just because a game did it better than your precious fansturbation material doesn't mean you need to take it out on me you know.
