DmC vs GOW (Combat)

>that was a joke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTwnwbG9YLE >GoW1 VH NUR+ NUR+, to be clear, is not using EXP (upgrades) or collecting what is needed for extensions (to the HP bar, MP bar, etc.). NUR is just concerned with EXP orbs. NER is just extensions. >pick the board GoW1, Saga or Collection. All fine by me. >GoWII VH NUR+ >quite difficult The first time, perhaps. Tranny and ER troubles, I imagine. Anything else of some note (minor or otherwise)? Sometimes people note Theseus (though he's so early it shouldn't matter much) and BK. Not so much others, but it isn't unheard of. The larger fights get more attention. Pantheon of Atropos gets interesting to deal with in PAIN+ and GKPAIN+ (Breeders, Seeds and Juggernauts...oh my). Shall you be making the topic then? It's usually better for the runner to make the topic. I'll provide the run skeleton in short order. Mind you. I've got work in an hour and won't be back for five hours, but I'll just be going to sleep quickly for a three hour nap before an eight hour shift (which will likely lead to a proper rest for the day before actually going to bed). We'll see how I feel upon getting home between shifts. Shouldn't take long to handle initial reports anyway, so it should be fine.
I'll make a topic in collection. I have work to do tonight so I probably wont start till tomorrow morning. NUR+, to be clear, is not using EXP (upgrades) or collecting what is needed for extensions (to the HP bar, MP bar, etc.). NUR is just concerned with EXP orbs. NER is just extensions. Yes that's what I did for GoWII. No upgrades, including health or magic. --- Beatings will continue until morale improves!
>Collection Noted. >work tonight As did I. Just got back from the longer day shift. I suggest making that thread sooner rather than later. You'll want to be fresh for the run skeleton coverage leading up to the Clones. I wouldn't advise getting very far without updating the run skeleton with run progress (tactical coverage, questions, comments, responses, etc.). >HP/MP upgrades We just refer to that as extensions to differentiate. The distinction allows for NER and NUR with NUR+ being their combination.
both DmC and GOW have shallow combat. DMC, Bayonetta > those two.
Never mind Tumbler, MM. He's just cross. We've got business elsewhere.

lolwhat. if you tasked yourself into getting the bonus, it's become part of the natural difficulty regardless of whether or not it kills you. just as you do any of your so-called challenge runs. you task yourself to do something, and it should persist all throughout. the only thing different is the objective. we're trying to get a bonus and if we fail, we restart the level all over again, as a self-imposed challenge. you're saying it's not difficult unless the game makes you die, yet you do challenge runs and have self-imposed challenges that aren't built within god of war, yet you also restart a level when you fail to do a no-damage run. talk about hypocrisy.
MrStarkiller posted... Never mind Tumbler, MM. He's just cross. We've got business elsewhere. ha. care to tell me how god of war has the better combat? oh no you can't, because you'll say "god of war's focus isn't combat! it's stupid to think that way!" yet you argue with people inside a topic that asks specifically about combat. LOL.
>if you self-impose >it becomes part of the natural difficulty Nope. >self-imposed challenges are now part of the difficulty So GoW is harder than DMC (and probably NG) thanks to the Clones? You sure you want to go this route, sailor? >trying to get a bonus Which is not part of clearing the game. It is not a win condition. Just a 'win more'. In Bayonetta you can go fresh through VH, with just PP, etc., but really, farming items and spamming them for an easy win is another valid means to beat VH (unsavory as it may be). That's the reality of things. Bayonetta allows for this and more. It can be extremely brain-dead easy or quite challenging. But to just clear it? That's not hard at all. >if you fail >try again That's on you, but it isn't something the game is doing to you for your failure. That's your doing. Self-imposed as with the no-damage run you seem so fixated on (more Shin's bag than my own). >unless the game Requires it to 'beat'. Getting high ranks can be hard, but it doesn't make beating the game harder. Just beating the game (with high ranks). It's a very simple concept. >also restart a level >a level >GoW You what, mate? NOTE: I don't do no damage runs. The closest I come to that would be not wanting to go into a fight with low life (or relying on a the death exploit for HP refills). This besides runs where one-hit will kill me. That's another story entirely. The game is killing me. I'm not electing to restart for a no-damage condition. >hypocrisy Do you even lift? >double post within a minute "Come on. Step it up." - Sanic >tell you how As compared to DmC? Why not learn first-hand with myself as your guide? The offer remains on the table. Take my hand. We've got much work to do. >isn't combat It isn't combos. That much is true. Only a casual would focus on casuals as a measure of combat effectiveness in GoW. Surely you jest. NOTE: You never did tell me why you're so cross. I'm your benefactor, son.
oh now suddenly, you're showing your true colours. you don't agree with how everyone else plays, and just focus on YOUR style-of-play. yeah, people exist where their self-imposed challenges aren't required to beat the game. you're the one who is so fixated within YOUR rules and what you think should constitute a challenge, that you try to tell everyone who does challenges any other way are wrong. oh god please pinch me now. so what if getting a bonus doesn't require anyone to complete the game? as long as it's a self-imposed challenge, then you mandate yourself to get it to be able to complete the game. yeah you don't agree with that, therefore we're wrong? pwahahahahahah. talk about someone so narrow-minded. and suddenly, you're calling me a casual because i'm talking about combat, which you think is a casual way of looking at GOW, yet you're here in a thread which specifically asks about combat. or are you going to ignore the topic title again and call everyone casuals? LOL. if you refuse to talk about combat between DMC and GOW, because you seem too afraid to do so, then just leave. double post within a minute has got nothing on this: http://www.gamespot.com/unions/TUGOWU/forums.html ROFL. your delusion about being a "teacher" of some sort is just so funny.
>true colors I've always been a forthright chap. I'm here to help. >focus on my way The way of the gods, didn't you know? >oh god >god >g Proper nouns are represented how, chap? NOTE: You make it look so hard to start a sentence with a capital. What's the deal, chap? You fancy CAPS, but can't spare any for good form? >so what So it doesn't make the game harder (naturally). It's just the sort of fun had by vets. Making what was easy (or became that way), much harder. Be it for time, rank or some other measure (as with restrictions *breeds creativity while providing challenge*). Satisfaction through overcoming an obstacle. The good stuff. >as long as it's a self-imposed challenge You still not catching on, son? We've been over this. The concern with damage, time, rank, etc. are not proof of the game being hard. Just that you can make it more so. If you would mind your anger, you might catch on quicker >we're >we Hmmm? >a casual But you are. Or do you intend to prove me wrong? By all means. How about some run coverage? As before, I'll need to know your run history before we proceed. >because You're fixated on combos (like a few other casuals of the past). Don't be "French", son. He never did overcome his blinding rage. Posterior pain distracted him from what could have been to the very end. Simple (and helpful) grammar correct and denoting him for what he was (being a casual) got him so cross he couldn't bring himself to just face facts (which he would admit, but then cite my attitude as reason to deny it all). Don't be petty. I can be your great benefactor. This small hurdle should be nothing for you. Thick skin is must. >GOW What's all this about Gears? >DMC The topic is DmC. DMC is something else entirely. >GOW You a big fan of that shooter? >nothing to do With good form? I agree. You should know better. The edit feature is grand. >TUGOWU What about it? >just so funny Yet you're merely rendered cross. Curious. |
