I have to thank the Antis, for ensuring this game's sales.

A hack and slash, in today's society, that's not named God of War, will not sell well. It just won't happen.

Check, Bayonetta.

So, selling over 1 mil copies = doesn't sold well these days? What should be called sold well? CoD level of sales?

selling 1mil at halfish price is not considered a breakthrough.

What does that have to do with my point? Heavenly Sword didn't have the technical and production issues DmC has, and obviously Halo and CoD is ultimately cheaply produced games with only a few changes and graphical cues.

How much of that budget is actually spent on production (not salary)? Just wanna know.

Thank you, for the gorgeous Rebecca Black effect you have created.

Look towards DMC 2 sales, and you will have good idea of what this game is going to bring in.

Yeah. Keep telling yourself that and maybe one day it'll come true. This game is going to fly off shelves. Especially since most of the people saying "I'D NEVER BUY THIS" are definitely going to buy it.

Videogame publicity =/= celebrity and singing publicity. Two vastly opposite groups there.

Name a game.

Dynasty warriors gundam 3. if that isn't good enough then king of fighters xiii

Not sure exactly what you're getting at here.
Care to elaborate?

Games were hyped by fans but bashed by others and they didn't turn out so great, Gundam 3 lacked in well everything but story. KOF 13's online sucks balls but it was a good return, fighters NEED online to be playable.

Well that is pretty delusional thinking right their lol. No means yes? Any way this game has a divided fan base, bad reviews from freelance gaming sites, and players. On top of it competing with massive competition from games in similar genres (metal gear rising etc.). Not to mention this is being made by Ninja Theory a studio infamous for its lack luster financial returns, and forgettably easy titles.

Bad reviews from freelancers? I'm sure the mainstream public gives a **** about them. MGR has just as much hate as this, GoW Ascension probably wont sell well (lol it will, but it doesn't even appeal to the same group of people even though it's th same genre that's what I'm getting at). AND this comes out first no? Right after Christmas. It's got everything kids nowadays think is great. Looks good, decent gameplay. It's going to sell well. Sorry.

To be fair DMC2 was Commercially successful. But this game is going up against better games on the horizon.

Salaries are usually the largest part of the budget behind marketing, to be honest.

Anyway:

Halo 4:

"The studio's creative team, which included nearly 200 people led by creative director Josh Holmes, started developing the game as early as 2009."

"Certain Affinity, an independent development team, was contracted by 343 Industries to help with the development of Halo 4; they started work on the game in early 2011."

"Performance capture and facial motion capture was utilized..."

"The team has performed many live audio recording sessions, several of which occurred in Tasmania, Australia."

"Some of these recording sessions have taken place in generally inhospitable environments, such as underwater, in fire, and in ice, through the use of specially designed microphones" (aka they had to use special equipment)

Davidge and his production team have enlisted a 16-person, hand-picked, male tenor/bass choir plus 10 female Bulgarian vocalists, a full 50-piece orchestra, and a host of other performers to work on the soundtrack."

I'm guessing it wasn't cheap.

COD MW 2 = 40 to 50 million on production.
