To whom are these the best games ever? Because by today's standards nobody even plays them or knows about them anymore. The best games ever today are games like assassins creed and skyrim, bioshock, COD. The popularity of this series is drastically in the dirt. Ive done a study of what the mass appeal is on gaming today and according to most populous Devil May Cry might as well be a nobody in the industry, the last game to come out was 6 years ago, and it didnt even get much recognition then.

Thief > Assassin's Creed
Morrowind > Skyrim
System Shock 2 > Bioshock
Half-Life>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.COD
Todays standards suck, todays games aren't even half as good as they use to be.
Due to stuff like Netflix/GoG.com no one has any excuse not to watch/play an old movie/game other than they don't want to.

And I've NEVER heard anyone call any of those the best game ever, usually they will say game of the year or something sure but mostly there best game of all time is something old like Chrono Trigger, SOTN, Planescape Torment or Super Metroid or something.

Suikoden 2 is 100x better than any JRPG that has been released in the last 5 years.

I would argue that Bioshock is just as awesome as system shock 2.
