Pretty reasonable, despite the rocky start.

Is a much better analysis imo.

I have been saying that all along. The game looks solid. It's just wearing the Devil may cry name which is unacceptable.

I agree, but in your vid, he's speaking "inside baseball." The vid I posted speaks more conceptually, broader, and thus its points reach further.

All of these highly negative videos just seem to linger on the fact that it doesn't feel like a DMC game, but it isn't meant to. It was designed to be different, it's debatable whether you agree that should be the case but it doesn't make sense to compare it to a game it's trying not to be.

It has Devil may Cry twice on the cover. That name means it's trying to be a Devil May Cry game. You can compare it because it's a Devil May Cry game. And it might replace the old series. You can compare them if it's potentially replacing the series. Which is better, the old, or the new? Most people say this game is inferior in many ways, but they just say it's not supposed to be one so it's okay.

If it might replace DMC, it has the same name and everything, it should at least be on par with the old. We have every right to compare them.

It was claimed to have been built from the ground up with Devil May Cry's DNA, and to breathe new life into the series. It has never claimed to be something so "completely different" to basically become a new IP with the Devil May Cry name. This game aims to please long-term fans as well as newcomers who have not decided to plunge into Devil May Cry games before.
