Then how come its not in the top ten like this game? Seems like there are way more people on these boards than on the MGR one. Just sayin.

Then how come its not in the top ten like this game If MGR was the only Metal Gear game coming out and the new "direction" they were taking the series, people would be SCREAMING and push that board into the top ten, just like DmC is only in the top ten because people are pissed and come to post how much they hate this game, Capcom, and Ninja Theory. Metal Gear is getting Ground Zeroes, a true MGS game, so people are content with MGR being a spin-off. DmC is the ONLY DMC game we're getting and compared to the original series it's absolute trash. People like me don't want to see they continue this abomination and want to see a DMC5 and want it to be NOTHING like this game. --- "So where is the justice when no one is at fault, and a human life is tragically wasted?" Guardian CD posted... Then how come its not in the top ten like this game They could take a few good Ideas from it. More free flowing combat - Yes lock on is good, but it kinda stunted the flow of combat limiting your movements to roll, strafe, and jump essentially. Move past the styles - They only exist because they couldnt figure out how to get such large movesets on a single layout. (Though on the fly somewhat rectified this.) Bayo had a moveset just as large if not larger than DMC4 Dante and there was no need for a style system. (Yes I get the dial a combo factor helped there but still; it's a somewhat antiquated concept. Let's see the next evolution of DMC if were even gonna bother with a DMC5.) The forms were at least an attempt to condense this. Actually try to have an interesting plot - Like it or not; DmC's plot is definitely more engaging that 4's (If you ask me more so than anything in the series really barring three.) Aesthetic counts- Fortuna was SO boring. Terminigru too until you went to hell. Dumary was hit and miss. Basically apart from DMC1 it's the most interesting visually. Try a new sound direction - I loved the electro sound direction of DMC1; DMC2 kinda kept this going. We already had DMC3/4 soundtracks comrpised of industrial/nu-metal type things; it's come and honestly I think it's time for a shift. The switch to aggrotech/dubstep is honestly a breath of fresh air if you ask me. Maybe make it a little more accessible - Not as in easy auto; but find ways to encourage players to seek out the depth in the game more. Dante's personality doesn't need to be lol troll face - I think this one is self explanatory. Don't bother with side characters if they're gonna do essentially nothing - Trish and Lady were pretty much just cameos. All the core characters in DmC actually seem to have a role to play. Eh that's all I can think of off the top of my head. --- In my restless dreams I see that town...
They could take a few good Ideas from it. More free flowing combat - Yes lock on is good, but it kinda stunted the flow of combat limiting your movements to roll, strafe, and jump essentially. I respectfully disagree, as it is now it is a convulsed mess, with often targeting the wrong enemy. Bayo did it right, this game definitely does not. Bayo allowed tor a lock should you wish it, which is always the better option. Possibly, but Bayo DID come out a long time after DMC4. And this game has LESS moves than DMC3 with Dante on Swordmaster :s Actually try to have an interesting plot - Like it or not; DmC's plot is definitely more engaging that 4's (If you ask me more so than anything in the series really barring three.) Disagree, it seems pretentious and overall it seems to try too hard. In effect, it becomes laughably terrible. At least the old games only had the story as an excuse to go out and kill stuff, here I'm outright offended. Better to have small to no plot, or have it being completely ridiculous, than to have it being an offensive mess that has most of its elements ripped off of better material. Aesthetic counts- Fortuna was SO boring. Terminigru too until you went to hell. Dumary was hit and miss. Basically apart from DMC1 it's the most interesting visually. Point, but I didn't think DMC4 had boring environments at all. DMC3, eh. It had some good parts and some meh parts. Dubstep is *NOT* the right "fresh air" IMO. But I really hate dubstep, I place it slightly above Hardcore. Maybe make it a little more accessible - Not as in easy auto; but find ways to encourage players to seek out the depth in the game more. As it stands there is no challenge involved whatsoever :s Dante's personality doesn't need to be lol troll face - I think this one is self explanatory. Maybe, but this is pushing it, we went from likable goof to unlikable jerk. Don't bother with side characters if they're gonna do essentially nothing - Trish and Lady were pretty much just cameos. All the core characters in DmC actually seem to have a role to play. So far Kat just seems to be Damsel In Distress. No wait, Damsels tend to be dressed better. She does even less than Lady (who was a bossfight) or Trish (who awakened Dantes Super Demon Form in DMC1) --- Goodbye Bubbles, dearest of pets. In regards to lock on - I did feel Bayo did a good job of it; but DmC doesn't do horribly; honestly as far as auto locks go; it's damned reliable. In regards to styles - Yeah Bayo did come out a while after DMC4, but still why move backward? Learn from Bayo and move forward if they're gonna bother with DMC5 In regards to plot - I guess that's too subjective to really to really say much about beyond "I disagree to each other" :p In regards to interesting aesthetic - I guess we're sort of in agreement there. The next DMC should be as visually arresting as DMC1 (Well for it's time). Remember the castle by night? In regards to sound direction - It doesn't HAVE to be dubstep, but I'd appreciate if they at least tried to change it up :p In regards to challenge - I don't see how that really countered my point. It was kind of a potshot at DmC. ;p I'll let that slide as I'm a little sleepy to push a debate on it. Dante's Personality - We're more or less agreed there. In regards to Trish and Lady essentially being cameos - I meant DMC4 in particular. A better example is Gloria. It seemed like by the way they played off her reveal like we were actually supposed to be invested in the slightest. Only Dante seemed to really care :p I sure didn't. --- In my restless dreams I see that town... |
