What are some reboots you guys felt were done right?

I can't say I've played a lot of reboots, but I enjoyed the Mortal Kombat reboot, even though I don't think my opinion is 100% because I never played the originals, so I have no basis of comparison.
Also mention if you're an anti or a pro so it's easier to tell how your taste in games is a little. (I'm an anti)

Mortal Kombat was good, but I'm not sure it exactly counts as a reboot even though they went back in time etc. It was explained (however simply) rather than just starting from scratch.

While I don't want it to replace the old series, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is an excellent game. Definitely worth playing, and I can't wait for Mirror of Fate and LoS2.

I can't actually think of any other rebooted game series at the moment.

All of them great games, and I don't think anyone would find these controversial other than DmC.

Resident Evil 4 was a canon continuation, albeit with a new gameplay engine.

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are set in the same universe.

And Rock Band is a different series, albeit by the same creators.

Though I do agree that Generations and Rock Band are better than Adventure and Guitar Hero.

I was thinking in terms of gameplay, the examples all play better than their originals, and don't have too much in common aside from setting.

Also forgot SSX Deadly Descents - absolutely the best sports game I've played this generation
