No what your referring to is called a new IP.


This. A reboot is supposed to be a reimagining of an existing IP's core ideas and concepts. Not a completely new game with an existing brand name slapped on it.

Oh. And f*** you too. Just rebooting my personality to appeal to the new audience.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was an excellent reboot. It was a GoW clone, but it was one that was done right and contained its own essence and drive. It took a simple, classic story of vampire hunters fighting Dracula and made it into an epic.

Resident Evil on gc was more of a reMAKE, which is just one game that they remade in better graphics, whereas a reboot is them actually starting the entire series over.
