sounds like it would be kinda like bleach, and given the previous voice actors, I find this both funny and something I'd more then likely advise to stay away from...

They actually gave themselves a lot to work with with the open ending. Now that demons are in the real world, they can go forward with Dante setting up shop and starting a business of killing demons for people.
Vergil can become a main antagonist. They can adapt DMC2. Neither Hell or Heaven is explored, so they have that too.
Saying they won't have any ideas for a sequel when they blatantly left so many things open is silly.

I agree. TBH, most of the concepts they had in this game came from somewhere else. Tameem ain't exactly creative.

So, what--the game is wrong for employing plot elements from DMC1 and DMC3? Disregarding the fact that these elements were weaved together to create a story that's actually fairly different compared to the other games?

This is a reinvention. Of course it's going to have elements from those games. But much of it also consisted of new ideas. A sequel would not have to incorporate plot points from the series at all. The foundation is already there. Demons are lurking the world, the angels have yet to be revealed, and Vergil still remains elsewhere, more than likely able to return.

Not to mention Sparda.

For DmC2, it be great if they focus on the power vacuum that will probably result from Mundus's death. Maybe add the Angels into it too, since they were a little neglected in this one.
