There was no DMC2 and DmC isn't a DMC game.

DMC3 > DmC > DMC1 > DMC4 > DMC2

DMC4 bored me and even though DMC1 is over 10 years old, as great as it was I never found myself going back to it much.

3 is hands down the best in the series, but man DmC is ******* amazing! 1 was really good too, it's just weighed down by being a product of it's time and 4 was okay for a few hours, but I never got even remotely good at it. Bayonetta is a better DMC game than 2, hands down.

Disregarding preferences in aesthetics and direction, that game had completely phenomenal gameplay. Aside from the rocket and motorcycle sequences of course.
