No, these sales are abysmal. For a AAA title this heavily marketed, debuting with sales of less than 250k in Japan is considered a complete failure. This is less than half of that. It's also far less than all previous DMC titles.
On the flip side, this game was never expected to do well in Japan to begin with, which it certainly isn't. We'll have to see when NA and EU sales come in whether this game was a flop or not, but so far trends are indicating that it's going to be a sales catastrophe.
DMC3 is supposed to be the greatest of all and DmC a piece of junk, at least according to some haters, and former was only doing 58% better than the latter? I was expecting DMC3 1st week sales to totally decimate that of DmC. --- Look at my XBOX720 ===> i7 2600 @3.4Ghz | ATI 6850 1GB | 8GB DDR3 | Asus P8P67 LE Now playing: Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Dead or Alive 5
Good news everyone, this game is tanking and there won't be another.
Can't wait to find out you hung yourself after finding out a DmC 2 is coming out.
It's hanged! Not hung, if you wish illl will; get it right!
I love it when someone screws up a very mean insult; it's hilarious.
Anyway, these numbers....are not good, not at all when you consider previous sales of the series. Then again the series has never been as big in Japan as it has been over here, so we'll see how things really are when the NA and EU numbers come in. Still, I don't see it doing great which will probably make CAPCOM go "oh crap, this was a mistake."
To be fair, DMC3 was sort of a sleeper hit, seeing as it came after DMC2. DMC2 kinda wrecked some of the fans of the first ones faith. --- "Ware wa Sanger Sombold. Aku o Tatsu Tsurugi Nagi!" The last thing Evil hears before it is Cleaved in two.
